TechFlow reported on January 21 that, according to Cointelegraph, the Kingdom of Bhutan plans to deploy and operate a Sei network validator node in the first quarter of 2026, marking the latest step in the country's digital transformation initiative. The validator node will be deployed through a collaboration between the Sei Development Foundation and the technology division of DHI, Bhutan’s sovereign wealth fund and holding company.
Phuntsho Namgay, Head of Innovation and Technology at DHI, said the wealth fund intends to further explore additional collaboration opportunities with the Sei Development Foundation, including projects related to payments and tokenization. As a key component of the proof-of-stake network, validator nodes help secure the network, validate transactions and blocks, and vote on protocol upgrades.
