TechFlow news, NEAR Protocol officially released its 2025 milestone overview, summarizing significant progress over the past year in network performance, cross-chain ecosystem, and AI execution layer development, and outlining the direction for continued expansion in 2026:
- Performance: NEAR network achieved a landmark result in scalability, realizing million-level transaction processing capability per second (1M TPS), supporting large-scale decentralized applications and AI-native services.
- Cross-chain: Through NEAR Intents and the cross-chain execution framework, the protocol facilitated over $7 billion in total cross-chain transaction volume, enhancing interoperability with other chains.
- Other: NEAR made substantial progress in private AI infrastructure, chain abstraction, and multi-protocol compatibility, laying the foundation for the deployment and operation of AI-native dApps.
2026 Outlook: NEAR stated that it will build on the deliveries of 2025, shifting focus to "scaling to handle larger transaction volumes + ecosystem-wide economic alignment," and continue advancing productization and ecosystem expansion around the two main themes of "chain abstraction/cross-chain UX" and "private AI." In cross-chain and chain abstraction infrastructure, the NEAR ecosystem is also advancing capability development in areas such as "unified liquidity/cross-chain routing" like OmniBridge, and planning to gradually expand support for more chains to improve cross-chain capital efficiency and settlement experience.
