TechFlow news, December 23 — According to 23pds, Chief Information Security Officer at SlowMist Technology, a new variant of the information-stealing malware MacSync has emerged that successfully bypasses macOS Gatekeeper security mechanisms, resulting in stolen user assets.
This malware employs multiple techniques to evade detection, including file inflation, network connectivity verification, and self-destruct scripts upon execution. Attackers can use this software to steal sensitive data from victims, such as iCloud Keychain, browser passwords, and cryptocurrency wallets.
Users should remain vigilant, avoid downloading software from untrusted sources, promptly apply operating system security patches, and take additional measures to secure their cryptocurrency assets.
