TechFlow, December 21 — According to Cointelegraph, Lomesh Dutta, Vice President of Growth at the Dfinity Foundation, said that AI-powered no-code development tools combined with blockchain are challenging Amazon Web Services (AWS) for dominance in the cloud computing market. These tools allow users to create applications through natural language prompts instead of writing code manually, and deploy them on decentralized blockchain infrastructure, thereby reducing reliance on centralized cloud servers. When applications are continuously generated and iterated by AI, what is needed is infrastructure that is secure, tamper-proof, and capable of running online without ongoing manual maintenance. Decentralized blockchain networks provide exactly this new computing paradigm.
It is reported that currently, a large number of crypto and Web3 projects still heavily rely on centralized cloud services like AWS for their external applications and websites. In 2025, multiple outages at AWS affected several cryptocurrency platforms and exchanges. Industry insiders including Bitget Wallet CMO Jamie Elkaleh and Uplink co-founder Carlos Lei have criticized that the crypto industry "has achieved decentralization at the ledger layer, but remains far from achieving it at the infrastructure layer."
