TechFlow, Algorand Foundation has released an official blog titled "2025 on Algorand: Roadmap progress," summarizing key advancements since the launch of the 2025+ roadmap at the beginning of the year, covering major areas such as on-chain governance, network decentralization, developer experience, enterprise-grade infrastructure, and user experience. Core achievements include:
- On-chain governance (xGov) launched on mainnet: The new xGov platform officially went live on mainnet in October, enabling on-chain grant distribution. Multiple proposals have already been approved and funded, marking a more inclusive and transparent governance model.
- Significant improvements in network decentralization: Online staked ALGO increased from approximately 1 billion to around 2 billion in 2025, the number of validator nodes grew by over 121%, and the P2P network has been deployed on mainnet, enhancing node propagation and censorship resistance.
- Enhanced developer experience: Tools such as AlgoKit, TypeScript, and Python language servers continue to iterate, improving development efficiency and lowering entry barriers, helping attract more ecosystem developers.
- Enterprise-grade infrastructure deployment: Intermezzo, an enterprise-hosted API solution, is now in practical use, supporting real-world deployments including World Chess.
- User experience and wallet innovation: Passkey authentication for new users (Liquid Auth) has been integrated into the Pera Wallet, and the upcoming Rocca Wallet will further simplify onboarding to Web3.
- Advancements in cutting-edge security and technology: In post-quantum security, Algorand successfully executed the first mainnet transaction using NIST Falcon signatures, strengthening the protocol's long-term security against quantum threats.
The foundation stated that in 2026 it will continue advancing key milestones including AlgoKit 4.0, Rocca Wallet, the economic incentive mechanism "Project King Safety," and new financial product standards, further driving mainstream adoption and real-world application deployment.
