TechFlow, Dec 11 — According to The Block, Klarna has announced a partnership with Privy, Stripe's wallet infrastructure platform, to jointly develop a cryptocurrency wallet solution for mainstream users. This move follows closely after Klarna's launch last month of its dollar-pegged stablecoin, KlarnaUSD, built on the Tempo blockchain, marking the payment giant's accelerated expansion into the crypto space.
Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski stated that with 114 million users and an annual transaction volume of $112 billion, the company holds a unique advantage in bringing crypto technology into everyday financial lives. The KlarnaUSD stablecoin aims to reduce cross-border payment costs and is expected to launch on the Tempo mainnet in 2026.
