TechFlow news, December 6 — According to Decrypt, Indiana Republican representative Kyle Pierce introduced a bill on Thursday aiming to expand state residents' access to cryptocurrency investments. The bill requires state-managed pension funds to offer cryptocurrency ETFs as an investment option and prevents local governments from enacting unreasonable regulations restricting cryptocurrency use in payments, mining, or personal asset custody.
The bill also includes provisions for assessing the potential applications of cryptocurrency within government operations and reserves space for pilot programs. Pierce stated that Indiana "should engage with the crypto space in a smart, responsible manner," and this legislation "provides residents with more investment choices while establishing safeguards."
