TechFlow news, November 6 — According to Decrypt, YouTube has clarified that its new policy taking effect on November 17 will not impose a blanket ban on cryptocurrency-related content. Previously, YouTube announced it would "expand its online gambling content restrictions to prohibit directing audiences to websites offering 'additional items with monetary value,' including game skins, cosmetics, and NFTs," sparking concerns within the crypto community.
A YouTube spokesperson confirmed to Decrypt that "content showcasing video game skins or cosmetics earned by creators in games, or general discussions about items with real-world monetary value such as NFTs, will not be affected by this update." The policy specifically targets gambling sites, not legitimate crypto gaming experiences.
