TechFlow news, October 30 — According to Cointimes, the Central Bank of Brazil will send six representatives to attend the "Central Bank Autumn Conference" scheduled for November 19–21, 2025, in Rio de Janeiro. Topics include the growing trend among central banks to hold cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin as reserves.
Ricardo Martinelli, representative from the International Reserves Department of the Central Bank of Brazil, will join counterparts from Colombia, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Guatemala to discuss "Investment Perspectives: How Reserve Managers Are Responding to Geoeconomic and Portfolio Strategy Challenges."
The conference will also address developments in central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), with Brazil's Drex digital currency project being a key focus. Rogério Lucca, Executive Secretary of the Central Bank of Brazil, will share insights during the panel discussion titled "The Future of Money: Innovation, Interoperability, and Partnerships," exploring the potential coexistence of CBDCs and stablecoins.
