HTX DAO’s Ambition: More Than Just a Hackathon
HTX Genesis Hackathon Opens in Hong Kong: Multi-Million-Dollar Ecosystem Fund Boosts Search for Next-Cycle Game Changers
While most people still view hackathons as “developer competitions,” deeper transformations are already underway.
On April 21, the HTX Genesis Hackathon—co-organized by HTX DAO and B.AI, and jointly initiated by TinTinLand and OpenCity—kicked off in Hong Kong. The opening ceremony drew enthusiastic attendance, with interactions intensifying rapidly. Participants from developer communities, investment firms, projects, exchanges, and public-chain ecosystems gathered to engage in systematic discussions on the technological evolution and commercial implementation of AI × Web3.
As a key global entry point for innovators within the HTX DAO ecosystem, this HTX Genesis Hackathon breaks away from the traditional, development-only orientation of hackathons, instead establishing a complete closed loop spanning “development → incubation → investment → listing.” Centered on tracks including AI and Web3 infrastructure, the event emphasizes real-world demand-driven innovation and sustainable growth logic, aiming to identify groundbreaking projects with long-term value.

Web3 Restructuring Driven by AI: Ecosystem Capability Emerges as the Core Competitive Variable
What sets the HTX Genesis Hackathon apart is the message it seeks to convey.
At the opening ceremony, Sun Yuchen, Global Advisor to Huobi HTX, made a high-profile appearance via livestream and shared his latest insights on the AI × Web3 convergence trend, offering a macro-level perspective on the industry’s future trajectory.
Sun Yuchen argued that AI Agents will replace traditional interaction models and become the core driver of the next phase of Web3 ecosystems.
He explained that past Web3 applications often involved steep learning curves and complex on-chain interactions. In contrast, the integration of AI Agents will shift decentralized applications from “manual operation” toward “intent-driven” interfaces powered by natural language. This means AI Agents can autonomously understand user intent, plan execution paths, and carry out complex on-chain operations—including cross-chain transfers and settlements. This paradigm shift toward intelligence and autonomy will not only significantly unlock on-chain productivity but also serve as a breakthrough solution to overcoming Web3’s user-growth bottleneck—ushering the industry toward genuine mass adoption.
Molly, HTX DAO Ambassador, shifted the focus from broad industry analysis back to the ecosystem itself.

Molly delivered a keynote titled “HTX DAO Ecosystem Development Plan: Launch of the $10M Ecosystem Fund and Value-Closed-Loop Strategy.”
She stated that the core vision of the HTX Genesis Hackathon is to build a free financial hub anchored on the exchange’s foundational infrastructure. To achieve this, five integrated ecosystem matrices have been established:
- Huobi HTX serves as the core business engine and liquidity hub;
- HTX DAO functions as the governance nexus and centralized decision-making brain of the ecosystem;
- The public chain and innovation layer rely on TRON for payment network support, and leverage DeFi infrastructure such as JustLend and SunX;
- HTX Ventures focuses on frontier domains, delivering investment, incubation, and acceleration services to outstanding projects;
- B.AI targets future trends, dedicated to building financial infrastructure for the AI Agent era.
Molly further revealed that, to ensure tangible ecosystem empowerment, the hackathon has launched a $10 million USDT Ecosystem Development Fund. Departing from traditional blanket funding, the fund adopts a “precision-enabling” strategy, disbursing support through a three-tiered mechanism: “Early Innovation Milestone Releases (Tier 1), Commercial Growth Convertible Grants (Tier 2), and Excellence-Ecosystem Top-Up Funding (Tier 3),” providing full-lifecycle support—from cold start to commercial maturity.
Molly also emphasized that Huobi HTX has clearly articulated four core strategic pillars for future development: “Stability, Transparency, Institutionalization, and AI Empowerment”—aiming to strengthen the platform’s long-term competitiveness amid volatile market conditions and deliver more predictable growth prospects for ecosystem participants.
In the subsequent panel discussion, the conversation converged on several fundamental questions:
How is value created? How can capital flow more efficiently on-chain? And how can Web3 applications truly achieve mass adoption?

Panel discussion in progress
Multiple participants agreed that isolated technological breakthroughs alone can no longer sustain the next growth cycle. Only through coordinated advancement across technology, capital, liquidity, and users can the Web3 ecosystem transition from structural innovation to systemic prosperity.
Comprehensive Resource Empowerment: Targeting the Next Web3 Alpha
As the discussion deepened, the full competition roadmap for the HTX Genesis Hackathon was unveiled.
The hackathon runs from April to July 2026 and is expected to attract approximately 100 elite development teams worldwide, culminating in staged demos and evaluations held in Hong Kong.
Beyond prize incentives, selected projects will receive multidimensional support from TRON, Huobi HTX, and B.AI—including compute resources, technical integration, ecosystem collaboration, and joint promotion.
In this era of accelerating AI and Web3 convergence, the HTX Genesis Hackathon is evolving from a standalone competition platform into an “infrastructure node” connecting global developer innovation with top-tier ecosystem resources. It is not merely searching for the next Alpha—it is laying the most robust structural foundation for authentic, large-scale growth of next-generation Web3 applications.
