The early network relied on a centralized Coordinator to operate. This protocol upgrade positions IOTA as an early adopter of the Move programming language, becoming the third leading L1 network after Aptos and Sui to implement Move, further solidifying its leadership in the industry.

• 500-millisecond confirmation speed
• First dual smart contract ecosystem (L1 MoveVM + L2 EVM)
• Token burning mechanism that triggers deflation when the network is active
• Up to 15% annual staking yield (floating based on total staked supply)
To ensure strong security and decentralization, the upgraded IOTA network will receive node support from top-tier industry institutions, including leading companies such as LugaNodes, KILN, Twinstake, Ankr, and P2P.
