GOAT stands for Goatseus Maximus. "Goatseus" is a creative term possibly combining "goat" with a Greek mythological name like Perseus or Theseus. However, GOAT also abbreviates "Greatest Of All Time," while "Maximus" comes from Latin meaning "greatest" or "largest."
Andy Ayrey, founder of Truth Terminal, clarified that Truth Terminal isn’t directly launching the GOAT token, though it has participated in promoting the memecoin. "The success of this memecoin proves my theory of building an AI alignment and safety company; this is my main stake in the game—though I’ve also bought some GOAT, and people are airdropping me GOAT as well to participate."
