This announcement sparked enthusiastic discussions within the NEAR community, sending NEAR’s price surging to a high of $8.9 (down to $7.76 at the time of writing), marking an over 110% year-to-date gain.
Since the beginning of the year, NEAR has been actively advancing its ecosystem development, leveraging three core narratives—Chain Abstraction (CA), Data Availability (DA), and AI—to ignite widespread community interest and fuel the trending #NEARVIDIA conversation.
As a prominent “AI expert” in the Web3 space, Illia’s influence extends beyond NEAR’s ecosystem growth, attracting numerous seasoned AI developers to join NEAR in exploring the integration of large AI models with blockchain technology.
In this article, we highlight five projects building on the NEAR ecosystem that are pioneering the fusion of AI and blockchain, driving revolutionary changes in areas such as models, wallets, trading, NFTs, and systems.
1. NEAR Tasks
In November 2023, NEAR officially launched NEAR Tasks, a blockchain-based platform for training and improving AI models. On this platform, model developers (Vendors) can post tasks and upload raw data, while users (Taskers) contribute by completing labeling tasks such as text annotation and image recognition. Upon task completion, users are rewarded with NEAR tokens, and the labeled data is used to train corresponding AI models.

2. Sender Labs
Sender Labs is the largest wallet and infrastructure provider in the NEAR community, previously backed by top-tier investors including Binance Labs and Pantera. Sender Wallet is the most widely used third-party wallet in the NEAR ecosystem, with over 1 million downloads. The team is currently developing a next-generation wallet powered by NEAR’s Chain Abstraction and account aggregation features, earning official endorsement from NEAR co-founder Illia Polosukhin. Additionally, the team is building a next-gen Web3 AI Agent on NEAR that enables large language models to invoke smart contracts.

3. DapDap
DapDap is a decentralized front-end system built on NEAR’s BOS platform, already integrated with hundreds of DApps across more than 10 EVM chains. It aims to create a unified user experience layer using NEAR’s Chain Abstraction, enabling seamless interaction with applications across different blockchains without requiring users to switch or exit a single interface.

4. Orderly
Orderly Network is a permissionless, decentralized exchange protocol and modular ecosystem built on NEAR, jointly incubated by NEAR and WOO Network. Using an on-chain order book, Orderly provides a comprehensive trading platform equipped with risk engines, matching engines, and shared asset pools. It also features a community lending pool, allowing token holders to earn yield by lending assets. Designed for composability, Orderly’s on-chain order book serves as a foundation for modular DApps to build financial tools such as spot trading, margin trading, perpetual contracts, and lending. 5. NEAT
NEAT Protocol is the first inscription-based rollup network. Unlike traditional rollups, NEAT employs client-side validation, meaning the canonical state of the rollup is determined by indexer nodes rather than the L1 blockchain. This eliminates the need to deploy smart contracts and run validation logic on L1, significantly reducing transaction costs and making NEAT an ideal choice for compute-intensive applications such as AI and gaming.
