Top 15 Projects from ETHDenver Hackathon
There is no shortage of projects with high demand that can address real pain points in Web3.

As the Ethereum community event ETHDenver concluded, ETHDenver announced the Top 15 projects from its BUIDLATHON hackathon, covering key areas such as infrastructure, DeFi, NFTs and gaming, DAOs and communities—highlighting the core domains Web3 builders are focusing on and developing.
Among them are high-demand projects solving real-world pain points in Web3. For instance, Michi, a points marketplace, uses the ERC-6551 standard to create wallets tied to NFTs, enabling users to earn points across any existing protocol. When an NFT is sold, all accumulated points in its associated wallet are transferred as well. Another example is OOPS!, which allows users to quickly transfer all their ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens from one wallet address to another while preserving their on-chain identity by proving these transfers on-chain—without losing eligibility for airdrops or other benefits. The emergence of these projects demonstrates both innovation and practical problem-solving potential, offering fresh inspiration for developers and builders.
Infrastructure & Scalability
VeriFido
VeriFido generates verifiable Ethereum indexes, leveraging Cartesi Machine to provide a deterministic and verifiable execution environment suitable for general indexing tasks.
Beyond processing, another critical component of the indexing workflow is retrieving data from the blockchain in a verifiable manner. To achieve this, VeriFido uses Optimism’s Pre-image Oracle to fetch block data based on keccak256 hashes. As a result, when Cartesi's upcoming Dave fraud-proof protocol goes live, the entire indexing process will become disputeable on-chain in a permissionless way. Finally, structured index data is published to IPFS, where it can be queried by any client. In VeriFido, this data is currently released as a SQLite database, remotely queryable by frontend clients such as web applications.

DeFi, NFTs, and Gaming
Egg Wars
Egg Wars is a game built on Base with two core assets: ERC-721 NFTs called "Chickens" and an ERC-20 token named "EGG," which serves as the primary in-game fuel.
At the start of the game, 150 players each contribute 0.015 ETH to launch a liquidity pool containing 20,000 EGG tokens on Uniswap. Each player begins with a Chicken NFT at level 1. Every 8 hours, a chicken lays eggs, adding EGG tokens equal to the chicken’s level into the player’s wallet. Players can buy or sell EGGs to support their gameplay strategy. New players can purchase EGGs to attempt hatching new chickens and joining the game.
Additionally, players can use EGGs to feed, throw at opponents, or hatch new chickens, causing levels to increase or decrease accordingly.

Bubble Wars
Bubble Wars is an on-chain MMO game where ETH has mass and momentum is conserved—a novel way for ETH holders to spend and earn ETH.
Bubble Wars runs its physics engine within its own Rollup (CartesiVM, Node.js/TypeScript smart contracts). Users join by generating a Portal (either a standalone EOA or account-abstraction address). Any funds sent to the Portal are automatically transferred to the Bubblewars application Rollup and can be withdrawn back to Layer 1 at any time after the proof period ends. Once sufficient ETH is deposited, players can begin launching bubbles.
The main objective is to absorb ETH mass from enemy bubbles and return it to your own Portal for profit. You can consume any bubble with less ETH mass than yours, but you’ll be eaten by any bubble with greater mass. Bubbles move entirely according to realistic physical laws.
To propel yourself forward, players must fire ETH in the opposite direction (following conservation of momentum). Additionally, the momentum from absorbed mass is transferred, meaning absorption can either accelerate or decelerate your movement.

Michi Protocol
Michi is a trustless points marketplace that uses the ERC-6551 standard to create wallets bound to NFTs, enabling points accumulation across any existing protocol. When an NFT is sold, all points accumulated in its linked wallet are also transferred.

DAOs and Communities
A Bank For DAOS
A Bank For DAOS offers simple lending solutions aimed at enabling more small businesses to enter the DAO ecosystem.

Sekai
Sekai introduces a solution that democratizes content creation using AI and Web3, making it more accessible and collaborative. Sekai empowers anyone to contribute to storytelling, regardless of technical skills or creative background.
Using Story Protocol and a Social-Fi model inspired by friend.tech, Sekai ensures creators are fairly compensated and recognized for their contributions.

Impact and Public Goods
Befit
Befit is a fitness app inspired by the random check-in feature of photo-sharing app BeReal, enhanced with incentive mechanisms. Key features include:
-
Random workout prompts to encourage spontaneous exercise;
-
Machine learning-based verification to confirm completed workouts, ensuring accountability;
-

EBF Network of Trust Impact
EBF Network of Trust Impact is a discoverable trust network for registering impact projects and verifying their ecological benefits, enabling builders, investors, and stakeholders to make informed decisions when evaluating projects they wish to support.

Unbound Science
Unbound Science aims to optimize the funding process for scientific research by separating donors' agendas from research topics, giving the public a voice in what gets funded. Voting tokens are distributed to donors and the platform community to support their favorite proposals.
Unbound Science will initially focus on supporting four research categories: energy, air, water and soil technologies, pollution or waste management, and quantum research.

Identity, Privacy, and Security
ODIN
With ODIN, DApps can ensure their smart contracts are paused before malicious transactions—those violating protocol invariants, typically hacks—are executed. This creates a two-sided market where DApps pay fees to block builders who are staked on EigenLayer, ensuring they do not maliciously pause these DApps.

OOPS!
OOPS! enables users to quickly, completely, and efficiently transfer all ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens from one wallet address to another, while preserving their on-chain identity through verifiable on-chain transfers.

HoneyPause
HoneyPause is a permissionless, non-custodial, and free on-chain bug bounty system integrated with circuit breakers. White hats can prove vulnerabilities in smart contracts on-chain, pause the affected protocols, and claim bounties. Protocols opt into the system by registering bounties on their smart contracts. The entire system operates permissionlessly, without custody, and at no cost.
