The 2024 Move Developer Conference is an annual offline flagship event featuring a wide range of technical workshops, keynote speeches, and panel discussions. It will also host a CTF programming competition for Move developers, educational sessions, and live demonstrations of real-world use cases.
Over the past year, Aptos and Sui launched their mainnets, embarking on a new journey to serve the next billion users. Multiple blockchain networks using the Move language—such as Rooch, Initia, and MoveMent—have emerged, increasing Move’s visibility among developers. Meanwhile, technologies like AI and zero-knowledge proofs have advanced significantly, leading to numerous blockchain solutions built on Move. In response, this conference will bring together renowned experts, top technologists, and industry practitioners interested in the Move ecosystem to discuss key topics including the possibilities, opportunities, and challenges of Move-based development.
Explosive Growth of the Move Developer Community
Move is a next-generation smart contract programming language developed by Meta (Facebook) in 2018. To date, there are tens of thousands of Move developers worldwide, with several thousand located in the Asia-Pacific region.
Statistics show that over the past year, monthly active developers on Aptos grew by more than 90%, while Sui saw growth exceeding 159%. The Move ecosystem is now the fastest-growing in terms of active developer participation.
